To celebrate the first ever edition of the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamers Edition 2008 they are holding a Guitar Hero event that will rival anything done before. The #1 Guitar Hero Player in the world, “iamchris4life” will be there to attempt the record for the Single Player High Score. Other record that will be attempted include Longest Multiplayer Marathon as well as Six Person Team High Score.

Chris, the #1 GH player is accepting challengers for the Single Player High Score. if you want to challenge you have to RSVP by 1:00pm and entries are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

There will also be interview an interview with the Guitar Hero creator Kai Huang.

Abbey Stirgwolt, The Advocate

Two 19 year old kids, in effort to fund the renovation of a skatepark, staged a Guitar Hero contest. The 2 teens were from Thornville, Ohio and held the event at a store in their local mall. Last saturday the contest went down and the store X-Gear was packed with people.

They raised a total of $67 from the event to go towards the skatepark.

Pretty cool idea.

Now I would say the contest was a success in terms of maybe having some fun, but how much is the $67 they raised really going to help out the skatepark.
