It looks like Target is going to host a Guitar Hero 2 tournament. The event will be held at the E for ALL Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will go on October 18th-20th. The qualifying rounds will be held until the last day in which winners will get to go against each other in normal tourney fashion (semi-finals, finals, ect.). The last day winners will get to face off on a special Guitar Hero Stage.

And now for the part you have been waiting for, the Prizes! They didn’t release too many details about prizes, but it is said there will be over $8,000 in winnings given out in the form of cash and target gift cards. Wish I lived in the LA area.

ATTENTION all Guitar Hero Fans, if you are holding any kind of open Guitar Hero Contest or Tournament drop me an email using the contact form and let Guitar Hero News know about it. I know there allot of places that are doing Guitar Hero Contests. In Atlanta I have heard about the Front Page News Restuarant doing Guitar Hero Contests. Only problem with theirs was that you had to be 21 becuase it was sponsored by Red Stripe Beer.

If anyone gets any pictures from the Tournament I would love to post them up. I have never seen a real Guitar Hero Contest going on.

Guitar Hero song packs are now the amongst the most downloaded content on the XBOX Live Market Place. There have been greater than 650,000 downloads of the song packs. The total amount of songs that have been distributed has reached over 2 million songs. Imagine whats going to happen to these sales numbers after Guitar Hero 3 comes out.
